BIOXX: Abscission
A downloadable game
Abscission (from Latin ab, "away", and scindere, "to cut'") - the intentional shedding of a body part.
The damage to your arm is deep. It had served you well for something you'd plucked off a corpse in the crevices of the city. Shedding it to take the swordsman's arms doesn't seem like a bad trade. The muscle memory that comes with them will be handy in your line of work.
In BIOXX, a 3-page rules-lite RPG, you'll play for-hire characters in an unstable organic environment, your skills decided by the parts you harvest. Biotechnology and the body have changed - biomaterial is in abundance. People are a walking history, their own bodies a tapestry of myths.
Specks of civilization exist in the folds of bulging mounds, dispersed groups settle where they can in the hazardous terrain beyond. Rotten and corrupted material has formed into horrors that terrorise wherever they roam. Phenomenons continue to appear; The Grand Neural, a vast web of synapses, is allowing minds to connect across the world. The appearance of synthetic breeding and material threatens to upset a delicate balance and turn life on its head.
BIOXX is based on the 24XX SRD by Jason Tocci, an open kit for developing your own RPG module.
